The Story So Far...

Press Releases

Jesus Toy

Vibratore Bizarro (their name taken from an Italian porn movie) was conceived during October of 1998, when three members of prototype stoner band Jesus Toy decided to follow a more groovy less psychedelic rock path than that of their previous incarnation.

The three members, (Antony: guitars, D-Motor: vocals, Gabriel R.: bass), plus newcomer Labis A.: drums influences were still rooted in 70s rock (Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Stooges, MC5, Grand Funk, Funkadelic) as well as in the works of more recent bands like Soundgarden, Kyuss, Big Chief and Helmet.

Live Performance at the 'AN' club

Vibratore Bizarro start rehearsing right away, thus creating their first pieces of music in the studio. At the end of February of the next year (1999) Vibratore Bizarro perform live for the first time. The venue was the tiny "Be-bop" club. Some more gigs follow in Athens co-headlining with groups of the same mentality, like The Rocking Bones, Nonmandol e.t.c.

During winter of the same year Vibratore Bizarro record their first demo at the Sierra studio. The demo included the songs "Dead Man Walking", "Touch Me" and "Motorlove".

A cover of Depeche Mode's "I feel you" never gets mixed and from now on, can only be heard during the bands live performances. The demo is being passed to magazines and journalists and gets the approval of Metal Hammer mag (7/10 in the reviews section).

More gigs are lined up and more people get to have the demo that is being sold at the venues.

We have now reached December of 2000 and the shooting of a video for the song "Dead Man Walking" takes place with more than satisfactory results. Athens Mad Channel (capital's only music TV station) takes up the rest through the specialist show Mad Files, TV war.

The schedule for next year (2001) is obviously the heaviest in the history of Vibratore Bizarro, especially as far as live performances are concerned.

Highlights include two shows at the island of Siros which the members of the band remember fondly and another show this time back in Athens at the "An" club, where after a frenetic fully-soaked set, Vibratore Bizarro end up with members of The Rocking Bones on stage demolishing everything with a typical assault on Kyuss' "Big Bikes".

The time is now suitable for Vibratore Bizarro to stay away for a period from the live circuit. They enter the studio once more, perfecting a total of like ten new songs plus a cover of Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf".

A couple of selected gigs follow (including a support slot with British rockers Orange Goblin) before drummer Labis A. announces his departure from the band. He plays his last gig during November of 2002 at the "Little Wing" club where Vibratore Bizarro perform alongside Human Asteroid.

The following months are a little bit hectic and frustrating. The search for a new drummer demands many hours of auditions which the band clearly does not enjoy that much. Finally, Dinos becomes the new drummer of the band, by learning the bulk of the new songs perfectly in less than a month.

As for the songs, without losing any of their hard-rocking essence, they get a new punkier treatment, thus becoming agents of a newly-established freedom and easy-goingness within the band. Check out "Phone", "Marvel", "Jailtrain" and "Turn Me On" for more on this.

A live show with stoner rockers Nebula follows...and the time has come for studio recordings. The band enters sierra studios ...recording their debut CD. Few months later the band-financed production is ready for release.

Vibratore Bizarro are finally here with their long time awaited first CD "SEX HUNDRED & SEXTY SEX" which will be released in late October 2005.
